The Johnstown Incline Plane An incline plane is like a train that goes straight up the side of a mountain. This one is in Chris Hamilton's hometown of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. When an incline plane car goes up the mountain, it stays level so you don't go sliding out the back. As one car goes up one also goes down, for balance. Cars and busses used the incline plane to quickly get up the mountain from the valley below. |
